How to experience the most out of Guild Wars
Sorry if this has been answered but I tried looking in google by typing [site:www.guildwarsguru.com "most out of guildwars"] and other entries.
I have bought this game around 2007-2008 and I have been off and on a lot. I know a lot of people may have different opinions, but I want to keep it simple. So far, I have a Assassin that has completed factions, up to the vortex in NF, completed Eotn half way prophecies, Dervish up to vortex in NF, and elementalist half way through NF and other characters just making their way up the game in other campaigns. Right now, I am sticking to a monk I made in proph, it is almost at its half mark I think and is in The Wilds. It seems like I can't make up my mind on what I want to do. I started off as a Elementalist and changed my mind into Assassin, Dervish, others and now a monk. Now I am wondering what are the best techniques do you guys have on deciding what you guys want to do in GW. Am I the only one who is like this? |

Or you can enjoy the game and just play around with stuff and make money get what you want, but if you plan on playing Guild Wars 2, I would recommend that you go for at least try to fill up your HoM[Hall of Monuments]

My advice.
Figure out which one you like to play the most. Which one you have the most fun with. For me it is my necromancer. I don't have a TON, but I do have more than a few titles in the Hall of Monuments now. 1 Rank now away from capping the Sunspear title. I try to focus on doing different things with other characters. My secondary is my Ritualist. I have gotten masters on all the mish's for all the campaigns on my rit. But, I have less elite armor sets for my rit. So that's it. Pick one or two characters you really enjoy playing and figure out different goals for each. |

If your assassin has reached teh vortex in Nightfall, I would suggest finishing Nightfal so you can experience Domain Of Anguish. You will be challenged there (probably a good thing) and you'll earn wealth very quickly.

Since you've gone farther with certain chars it maybe means you have more fun with them? Just a thought. My main is my main because it's the first one I've seriously played with (but she's anyway the one I have most fun with, even now), nothing special, but the priority I give to the others is all a fun factor. |

I recently came back to GW after a year break of playing WoW.
The thing I have found most fun has been playing with my brother (both started new characters) and playing through the campaigns / working on titles together. |

I would love to go back on my Assassin, but the thing is I am not a build genius and I really need pvxwiki. I loved to raptor and vaetirr farm, but now Anet really did a number to SF. I would like to go around it, but there aren't that much video tutorials and if there is anyone like me they rather see it in a video than trying to figure out what am I reading.
In addition, I am not a skilled player and I notice there are Pro's in GW that know when to interrupt and they are crazy at paying attention to detail. Compared to that I am not talented like them what's their secret? Play GW until their fingers hurt? |

I vanquish and map the area with the Zaishen Bounty. I usually play the Fort Aspenwood or Jade Quarry Combat missions, ignoring the rest of the Combat Missions. I try to get the bonus on the NM and HM for the Zaishen Mission quest. This keeps me busy, it's great variety, I see things I wouldn't have, and my titles keep climbing. |

I would agree with what everyone's said, try out a few characters - settle on one you like and do the campaigns with him, you don't really need to do titles unless you're bored. Once you've done the campaigns you can start to chase titles or do elite pve areas, even pvp if you feel confident but it's gonna be rough if you haven't finished the campaigns yet . |

play pvp although its not as easy to get into as it was before, but when it was it was, pve was easily the weakest part of gw

wow.. reading your title, I think back to the MANY MANY aspects of this game. I've only had it for about 56 months now & I've played through ALL of it MANY times with multiple characters (except the Bonus Mission Pack cause I didn't really WANT the rewards). There is SO much to this game (PvE & PVP), it's VERY hard to NOT get your $ worth.
Personnally, the most fun I have with GW is when gaming with others in a coop manner. If you're less interested in storyline & creating muscle memory for more efficient play, then gaming with multiple characters in a "random" fashion is kinda kewl. NO chance to get bored cause although instances my be the same when you re-enter, the play is different with each character & you don't have to take the same routes. In particular, until you get used to each dungeon, the dungeons offer the best of the "finding your way" experience because of all the graphics re-use (many dungeon areas look like other dungeons so getting lost can be common in the early runs) but are different instances with different paths and foes. My favorite part about the different character approach is in RA. It offers a relatively quick chance to try a build in an environment where you're goiong to loose 50%-75% of the time anyway (no matter what build/character YOU bring to the match - just my experience)!!! It's a FUN way to learn what a character can do (both by others to you & by you to others) & the matches are generally VERY short duration with virtually no wait to play (unlike ALL other PvP formats in GW). OP, I'm similar. I've explored all professions but have left a lot of characters neglected.
Basically, it was hard for me to decide on who to invest in. It really comes down to what you enjoy playing the most, it's just not easy to accept. I adore my dervish, but for the life of me I just can't stay interested in playing as one. I've come to accept that I am just not a melee player and so she's been rusting. I have promised to resurrect her once the dervish update goes through. Bottom line, keep playing. You'll know when you are forcing yourself to stay with a profession and the difference between playing for fun and playing out of obligation to "finish" a character. |

But anyways what I did in the other game helped me, It might not always work for others but I like to share what helps myself sometimes and hope others take the moment to read it. And BTW quick off topic, the other game was NOT WoW if you're asking but thank you anyway. |
